A family of artisans in service of a piece
We are a family of Colombian artisans dedicated to metalwork and to casting pieces linked to the Neocatechumenal Way.
Our story began with Óscar, a locksmith by trade, who agreed to learn metal casting in order to make a cross that had been entrusted to his hands.
Over time, practice became experience; experience became a craft; and the craft became a family legacy.
Today a new generation continues this work, preserving the models, the techniques learned, and the commitment to treat every piece with respect.
Two generations, one craft
Óscar Restrepo
Óscar was not trained as a metal caster. His initial experience was in locksmithing and metalwork. Even so, his curiosity, discipline and ability to learn allowed him to develop his own casting process empirically.
For years he worked through difficulties that were not explained in any manual available to him. He learned to recognize the behavior of the metal, to prepare the molds, and to notice the details that could define the outcome of a piece.
His greatest work was not only what he cast. It was also the knowledge he managed to pass on.
The new generation
After years of watching and accompanying his father's work, Óscar's son took on the responsibility of learning the process and keeping the making of these pieces alive.
His role is not only to repeat a technique. He must also solve new challenges, improve documentation, guarantee quality, organize orders, and make it possible for the pieces to reach more places safely.
